STATE OF ART HEARING DEVICE CENTER OPENS IN SANTA ROSA
California Ear Institute brings premier hearing-related services to Santa Rosa
SANTA ROSA, CA, NOVEMBER 26, 2007 – Leading provider of hearing-related services California Ear Institute at Santa Rosa opens hearing device center in December 2007, making available for the first time the best in hearing-impairment device technologies. Expert Audiologist Christy Cooper, Au.D. will manage operations in the North Bay location.
Founded in 1968 as the first practice dedicated specifically to hearing healthcare, CEI has since provided over a quarter million visits to patients worldwide. Surgeons and audiologists treat hearing and balance disorders with innovative modalities, including assistive and surgically implantable hearing devices and cochlear implants.
Effective January 1, 2008, California Assembly Bill 2651 requires all infants receive hearing screening tests before leaving the hospital, and will add an average of 120,000 infants to public record per year. CEI’s new center is uniquely qualified to treat the hearing-impaired percentage of this population.
CEI offices are located throughout the great Bay Area in East Palo Alto, San Ramon, and Santa Rosa. Each location is open five days a week.

"One of the more groundbreaking biomedical achievements in the last thirty years is the cochlear implant, an electronic device that provides a sense of sound to individuals who are profoundly deaf or severely hard-of-hearing. Cochlear implants process sounds from the environment and directly stimulate the auditory nerve, bypassing damaged portions of the inner ear. Derived in part from NIH-funded research that dates back to the early 1970s and continues today, this remarkable technology enables deaf and severely hard-of-hearing individuals to enjoy an enhanced quality of life by providing the ability to listen and participate in conversations as they typically occur throughout our society... "

CT Scan - X-rays at CEI
The California Ear Institute now offers CT scans at our Palo Alto office. The procedure takes about 20 minutes and uses only 10% of the radiation used by other scanners. Call 650-494-1000 to arrange for a scan and consultation with one of our providers.
Allergy Skin Testing Clinic Opens October 3, 2005!
As an added benefit for our hearing and sinus patients, we are pleased to announce the addition of allergy skin testing to the many services we provide. Initially, his service will only be offered in our Palo Alto office, and we hope to bring it to our San Ramon office early in 2006.
